From the artist’s project statement:
“For the past few years my interest in the natural world has evolved from a singular concern about climate change to a concern about the total state of the natural world itself. I question why humans do not show more appreciation for all the necessities that we draw from the earth. The collection of photographs is places that I am home to and drawn to. It is anything from untouched forests to urban renewal developments in the neighborhood where I live. In urban environments, community gardens and street plans show our necessity for nature. The forests and landscapes show the power and beauty of nature, with and without human hands. The photographs bring the two together in an abstract, quiet, way. They are places where the experience of walking through one can become similar to visiting a personal fairy tale; there can be a confusion and chaos among the breathtaking beauty where nature and humans collide.”
